“Debarati Roy is an entrepreneur, a language teacher, an IELTS examiner, a teacher trainer and a corporate trainer. She has been working as an educationist for a decade now and has worked with people across nationalities, age groups, professions, ethnicities, languages, disciplines, geographies and hierarchies. She has imparted training for over 11,000 teaching hours till date. Deabarati started working with the British Council in 2009, where she has analysed needs and managed expectations of learners, identified learning styles to scaffold their learning process, adapted materials to suit the context of multi-cultural students, mentored and supported new teachers in lesson planning and delivery, maintained database of lesson plans, devised and maintained a robust learning procedure for self-development. In 2014, she cleared the first module of DELTA, from Cambridge University, with a merit. She was the first teacher at the British Council Teaching Centre, Kolkata, to have written the exam and scored a ‘merit’ without going through any formal course on DELTA. Read more...
